New post light conveys calm and security with Nordic simplicity – meet OTTO L1700

You can now choose a post light that, with its pleasant light and welcoming shape, is designed to enhance public spaces. The new light is called OTTO L1700 and is created by architect Johannes Lindner.

In the design, he placed great emphasis on making the design convey calm, warmth and security.

“Street lamps are an important element in public spaces, and I wanted to design a lamp that could enhance our public environments. I think the simple, cohesive – solid – look, without unnecessary details, gives the lamp a pleasant, kind and welcoming appearance. The light is soft and glare-free. OTTO enhances parks, paths and other communal areas with a friendly form and a pleasant light,” says Johannes.

The German architect describes himself as a great admirer of the simplicity and meticulous attention to detail that characterise the Scandinavian design tradition. Perhaps that is why the OTTO L1700 has such a distinctly Nordic design aesthetic.

New post light with illuminated ring

The new post light is simple on the inside as well as the outside. It is based on a geometric idea – two circles connected by their tangents. This creates a well-proportioned lamp silhouette as well as an illuminated ring.

Technically, the lamp is composed of just a few parts, which makes it more robust and easy to produce. An adjustable pole bracket makes it easy to install on both designer poles (Ø88,9 mm) and standard Ø60 mm poles.
