Energinet’s headquarters in Fredericia were constructed in 2007, with architecture by Hvidt & Mølgaard and landscaping by Kristine Jensen’s design studio. The PIN L304 post light with its simple look was chosen to complement the broad lines of the structure. Some of the 70 lights installed have a one-sided shade, directing their light towards trafficked routes.

In the car park, the slender, luminous cylinders are interspersed with low trees, adding a vertical aspect to the landscape.

The car park has been extended several times since 2007. Each time it has been easy for Energinet to augment the lighting with additional timeless, classic PIN lights, a model that has been in continuous production by Lampas since the 1990s.

When the lights were installed, fluorescent tubes were the standard light source. However, since Energinet itself forms part of the electricity infrastructure in Denmark and bears joint responsibility for the transition to green energy, it was essential for the business to switch to LED light sources. At the same time the company wanted to keep the actual lights, which remained an elegant feature of the car park. Therefore in 2016 Lampas enabled upgrading of the lights by supplying LED kits, which can easily be inserted into the existing post by an electrician.
