Hjerting Waterfront

The beach promenade in Esbjerg was renovated in 2011 to include landscape designed by Spektrum Arkitekter, and a 660 metre long wooden promenade.

In 2012, the lighting along this stretch had to be replaced. Esbjerg Municipality wanted to install bollard lighting on part of the section, but with no light in every other bollard, so these simply acted as a boundary. Two things were important: the lighting had to have energy-saving LED lights, and uniquely for this area: The bollards had to be able to with stand abnormal water levels generated by storms. Therefore, they had to live up to an IP rating of at least 66, i.e. be protected against the penetration of dust/sand and be able to resist strong streams of water.

Lampas had previously supplied the Blue Water Arena in Esbjerg, with the simple, rectangular ADDO L96 bollard, both with and without light. As part of that project, Lampas developed a solution for Hjerting Strandpark, where the LED driver was integrated in a sealed box to comply with IP66. A total of 56 bollards with lights and 50 without were supplied to Hjerting Strandpark.

In the beach park, a group of PIN L304 post lights of varying heights have also been installed. In daylight, the group is reminiscent of boats masts bobbing up and down on waves. In the evening, the arrangement provides a lighting experience on the beach.
