Design: Cubo Architects

OWEN L801 is an indoor wall and ceiling light, with a minimalist style that makes maximum impact. The light’s slim, rectangular shape is interrupted around the edge by four apertures that allow the light to spread beyond the confines of the casing. The four small apertures add interest to the rectangle and provide a visually discreet and pleasing light experience.

The details of the light draw your gaze and make OWEN L801 ideal for enhancing spaces where multiple identical lights are needed. OWEN L801 is a perfect design for staircases and along corridors. We have also seen it used as a ceiling light above large, open indoor staircases.

Wall and ceiling light in aluminium

OWEN can be used as both a wall light and a ceiling light. It can be surface mounted or semi-recessed. The design is ideally suited to being semi-recessed, with only the cast aluminium edge visible. Since its shape is symmetrical, OWEN can be positioned horizontally or vertically on a wall, or even, for that matter, diagonally.

The choice of material helps to bring qualities such as a sense of calm, lightness and balance to OWEN L801. The white cover, made of polycarbonate, is satiné and diffuses the light. The casing is chill-cast aluminium, and this method gives the edges a soft, almost hand-drawn, look. The raw aluminium gives the casing a vibrant, light grey surface. If you want to give your interior design a more distinctive look, you can choose a colour to accentuate OWEN’s casing. We can apply a powder coating in any RAL colour.

The materials are hard-wearing, durable and easy to maintain.

OWEN as an outdoor light

OWEN L801 is also available in a round version, OWEN L800. Both the round and rectangular versions of OWEN are available as outdoor wall lights.

The OWEN range was designed by Cubo Architects in 1998 in connection with a new master plan for the University of Southern Denmark in Odense.
